Keeping tiny humans alive is a huge job, such a huge job that I often forget to take care of myself, as a mama. And being in the third trimester, I really need to make self care a priority–since taking care of myself means taking care of this baby too. Luckily, Walmart makes it easy to remember to take care of yourself, as a mama. It’s so easy to focus on the tiny humans eating a well balanced lunch, making sure they stay hydrated, and getting all of their vitamins ready and then forget about the things you need to do to take care of you!
I came up with these 3 simple tips for taking care of yourself, as a mama. They are simple and I promise they don’t even include working out…unless that’s your thing, then by all means, add working out to the list, mama.
- Have easy lunch solutions on hand–like Campbell’s Well Yes!™ Soup. That way, you have no excuse to finish the picked over fruit and sandwich scraps that your 4 year old left on his plate and pretend that it is a proper lunch. And then eat an entire bag of popcorn during nap time since you didn’t consume anything of real nutritional sustenance. Campbell’s Well Yes!™ soup is made with nutritious ingredients, no artificial colors, flavors or ingredients–and chicken meat raised without any antibiotics.
- Have quality water bottles to take with you on-the-go. Having water with me for playdates and preschool pick up makes me drink water more, without even really being aware of it. If I don’t have a water bottle with me when I leave the house in the morning, I totally notice that I am dragging and always get a headache when I haven’t kept up my water intake. Having it in a bottle with a lid also keeps me hydrated better at home, because then I move it room to room while I play with the kids or put away laundry and don’t have to worry about it spilling. I’m loving infused waters right now.
- Try to take some time for yourself to recharge! I know, I know, time alone is so precious and rare when you’re a stay at home mama, but it is SO IMPORTANT. Even if it’s just getting up a little bit before the tiny humans to enjoy a cup of coffee while it’s still hot, or taking a bath after they’re in bed for the night. A little alone time makes such a huge difference. And if getting proper alone time is really not possible, just let your preschooler watch a movie on Netflix so you can finish Girl on the Train while the tiniest human naps. You need some me time, mama. So don’t feel guilty about it.
All three of the soups I purchased have non-BPA lining and are free of preservatives! I loved the Roasted Chicken with Wild Rice Soup. It has corn, carrots and sweet potatoes and nice sized chunks of chicken meat that is raised without antibiotics. I ate it for lunch one day with a big salad and it really hit the spot.
The Hearty Tomato with Roasted Barley contains red peppers & garlic and a whopping 3/4 cup of veggies! And it tastes great with a grilled cheese to dip in it. The Sweet Potato Corn Chowder also contains red peppers, along with wild rice. It’s vegetarian, if that’s the way you operate, and has 2/3 cup veggies. Each can has 2 servings, so I’ll definitely be packing it for RJ in his lunches along with a sandwich. Because daddies should probably eat right too.
Campbell’s Well Yes!™ Soup will be available at your local Walmart, in the soup aisle, for a low Walmart price. AND, watch your Sunday paper inserts on 2/12 and 3/12 for a great coupon to use on a Campbell’s Well Yes!™ Soup purchase. Select Walmart stores will also be having in-store demos 2/16-2/19.
