I cannot believe we have lived in our new house for three months already. We’re (mostly) unpacked. We still have a few boxes of decor and ridiculous amounts of barware to unpack. We finally got around to hanging curtains a couple weeks ago, with the help of my parents. So now that Emaline’s room has curtains up instead of a sheet, I am dreaming about making her room perfect. Most of her decor is still in boxes, but I’m feeling motivated to get the kids’ rooms all put together.
We are going with the same Disney Princess theme as we had for her nursery, but incorporating a few toddler touches. Here is what I am thinking:
Jenny Lind Bed. We transitioned Eli to a toddler bed after his crib, and then to a twin. But with Emaline, I think it will be easier to just over her right into a twin when she outgrows (or gets the hang of climbing out of) her crib. I love the idea of a daybed, it looks so girlie and fun. And this one from Land of Nod has a trundle option, which is sort of perfect for sleepovers.
Cinderella Print. “Have courage and be kind” is the best message from Disney’s latest Cinderella film. I know I want to frame this quote in her room and I adore the hand lettering and foil options on this one.
Peg Doll Anna & Elsa. Emmy already has these, the Easter Bunny brought them in her basket, and she absolutely adores them. They look sweet on a shelf, or the floor to play with. Sometimes she even sleeps with them.
Fun Pillows. Like this dream big pillow, I found on etsy. Emaline has a love for reading, so I want lots of pillows so she can cozy up next to her bookshelf. I should find a good Belle pillow, since she is the nerdy princess.
Chandelier. I fully intend on getting the same chandelier we had from ikea in her nursery. How can you go wrong with a $40 light fixture?
Dress-Up Armoire. Emaline is already super into dress up. She has a handful of dress up clothes, that grandma got at garage sales and on clearance, that she absolutely loves. I love this idea (from aboutfamilycrafts.com) of repurposing an old entertainment center into a dress-up armoire. And we just happen to have one in our basement, that I refused to let RJ get rid of, just waiting to be repurposed.
Neutral Bedding. I love this grey Dream Girl Bedding Set from land of nod. I plan on doing a super neutral bedding so that I can change out fun, bright pillows as she grows.
Adventure Print. I’ve always felt like if I were a princess, I’d be Belle. I don’t know if it’s because she’s sort of nerdy or because she has brown hair like I do. But she’s my favorite. I like that this quote is still princess-y but talks about adventure.
Sleeping Beauty Style Pillow. I love society6, I find so many cool things there, like this pillow with Aurora’s pink and blue dresses represented on it.
Wall Hooks. I have a bit of an obsession with wall hooks. In our old house, I had them in basically every room. But I’m thinking she needs some hooks on the wall for picking out her clothes for the next day.
Felt Dolls. I found this etsy shop, The Masked Menagerie, that has some adorable Disney Princess felt dress up dolls. I know Emaline would love them.
Dingelhopper. I’m not really sure how this would fit into room decor…maybe I could mount in on the wall? But it’s so stinking cute. I guess I could just buy one for her to actually eat with…
Daughter of the King Sign. I absolutely love this wood sign that I found on etsy. And it’s the perfect message that I want Emmy to always remember.
What do you think? Do you know of something absolutely adorable that Emaline needs in her Disney Princess Room? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
