I feel like September has been so chaotic and it’s already almost over.
Here’s some of the random things we have been up to so far this month:
We went to Menchies to celebrate something.
It’s funny I don’t even remember what it was we were celebrating, but I’m always looking for a good excuse to get Menchies. RJ was going to share his with Emaline, but you can see how well that worked out.
There has been a lot of football watching and football talk and football playing activities. Emmy even knows how to “hike.”
And fantasy football season is in full swing. Eli even picked his own team.
We went to a wedding. My family is so cute.
I found this crewcuts dress at a mom 2 mom sale last year, and I was so excited for her to get to wear it finally.
Elijah drove a little bit in the parking lot after the wedding.
I took barely any pictures at the wedding. Having two toddlers at a wedding is sort of bananas. They kept us a tiny bit busy.
Emmy discovered the art of the selfie. Every day lately, there has been about 25 pictures Emaline took. They mostly are of her feet or the ceiling, but occasionally she gets her sweet face in there.
I should probably make her an instagram account.
We got one last swim in Grandma and Grandpa’s pool.
My kids have been so incredibly sweet together lately. Holding hands on their own. Elijah sneaking into Emaline’s bed after nap. Random hugs and kisses. It makes me so happy that they are so close and love each other.
Elijah started preschool. (read more about that here.) And then my kids stopped letting me take pictures of them in front of the brick wall.
Eli got his hair cut. It was bad at first and it sort of looked like a little girl bob and I cried, but then Gillian did some magic and fixed it and now I love it and I can look at him without being sad. It was a rough two days for me after that first haircut… (Isn’t his tank cool…did you see my post about how awesome Swanky Shank is?)
Emmy got a cold. So she was super cuddly and sad and boogery for a few days last week and got really used to having her temperature taken. Thankfully, she is on the mend and had a really good day yesterday.
Elijah told me he didn’t want to nap. In any of the beds. So I suggested the floor instead, I thought it was some good love and logic. But then he said he was going to sleep on the floor, and I needed to get his covers. He actually took a good nap, too.
Emmy had pig tails for about 3 minutes. She was really excited and then she pulled them out.
We were psyched for the Lions game. And then they lost. That is Emaline’s sad face.
Elijah saw megatron’s touchdown, so that was the highlight of his afternoon.
We celebrated my dad’s birthday. It was a great end to the weekend and I made a really yummy desert.
Now we’re on to a couple more busy weeks, I’m sure with lots of fun adventures sprinkled in.
