So its May. And it definitely feels like it now.
We had a busy April. Here are a few of Eli’s April Adventures that I haven’t blogged about:
We bought our house.
And since we have the coolest realtor ever, we got adorable and tasty personalized cookies. Eli and Emmy were super psyched about them. We still don’t actually live in our house yet, but Eli got to go check it out with daddy a week ago. He talks about “our Toy Story” house often.
He’s happy that it has a swing set.
The kids are doing swim at Aquatots.
The first couple weeks were rough for Elijah. He spent a lot of class sitting on the steps, but he is doing awesome now. He loves doing “star, chicken, rectangle” (which is the back stroke…I think) and can almost float on his back. Emmy, on the other hand, has no fear and will jump right in and go all the way under, completely unfazed.
Eli really loves watching Emmy’s class and I know that the snack portion, is a huge motivator.
We had a rainy day adventure.
That consisted of zero puddles.
Could he be a cuter big brother? He can be so sweet with Emmy. Holding her hand on a walk. Giving her kisses. Sharing food with her. And then he does something infuriating like shove her into a pile of legos.
I try to focus on the sweet moments.
He was in an especially goofy mood this day. Probably because April had such crappy weather and we barely got to play outside. So he was so happy to be outside. He discovered that the cul de sac down the street had a pretty great echo, so he spent a while yelling random things. It was pretty entertaining. And he encouraged Emmy to yell too, which was adorable.
Eli had a boys day at the Tigers game.
Just boys. Eli, his best bud Jonah, and their daddies. Of course it was freezing that day. But from the stories I heard, they had fun.
Fries were involved, so Elijah was happy. Doesn’t he look like he’s dressed for the dead of winter? It was that cold.
They had a carousel ride and ate junk food and danced and played baseball with Jonah’s new bat.
Could be a bro hug, or could be the precursor to a body slam. You never know with these two.
Mama and Eli went on a date, to the baby store and McD’s.
He was so happy that it was just him and I. But he did want to pick out so many things for Emmy. I was surprised at how well he behaved and listened to me. The probably means I should take him out just the two of us more often.
Based on the weather this weekend, I think our upcoming adventures will be outside.
