When people found out we were going to take Elijah to Disney World when he was only one and a half, some people thought we were crazy to spend that money on a trip that he wouldn’t even remember. It wasn’t even a question for RJ and I to take him, because its DISNEY WORLD.
Then, we went again only a little over a year later, Emaline was 8 months old, Eli two and a half. So Emaline was definitely too young to remember.
But Elijah, he remembers every single detail.
He talks about Disney World often and we look at pictures almost every day. He found a map this week and carries it around. He will just sit on the floor with it and talk about the rides and what he remembers. He will ask questions, “Mama, where did we meet Lightning and Mater again?” And show me where the “scary Mickey show with fire” is located.
Before nap today, he was playing Disney World with RJ. It was pretty elaborate.
He started with taking pictures with the characters. He even waited in line to greet them.
And he posed with them.
He pretended I was princess sofia.
He came up with rides in different rooms and walked us through them.
His imagination is amazing. I love the way he plays. Not like I ever doubted our decision to bring our kids to Disney so young, but this just completely reinforces it.
So, in conclusion, take your toddler to Disney World.
I never blogged about our trip last year, because we put our house on the market when we were in Florida. All Disney World pictures in this post were taken by Molly Grunewald. The pics of Eli pretending to be in Disney World, were clearly not taken by her.
