One of the saddest parts of Eli being in school all day, Monday through Friday, is that we lose our Mondays. With RJ working weekends, and preaching some, Monday is his day off, so it’s always been part of our weekend. Since Eli was tiny, Monday was always our day to do fun family things, go to the zoo or to Stoney Creek or even just a trip to the mall. The kids get so excited for Monday because its “not a working day” for daddy. And it’s hard for us to lose that. They are only little for so long.
So we’ve been consciously trying to still do fun things Monday afternoons when we get Eli from school, and this indian summer we’ve been having here in the mitten makes it easy to go on some Monday adventures. I could go to Yates Cider Mill every day, not even joking. Fresh donuts and cider are the best part about fall in Michigan.
