Happy Earth Day! I am excited to be hosting a giveaway with RePlay Recycled, a super eco friendly company. All RePlay Recycled HDPE products are manufactured, assembled, packaged and tested right here in the USA. Basically, they are made from recycled milk jugs and totally BPA free, phthalate free, and PVC free.
I first discovered RePlay when Elijah was around one. I was wandering around Walmart one afternoon, and the packaging on a set of forks and spoons caught my eye because it was made from recycled milk jugs. Two years and several dishwasher cycles a week later, the forks and spoons are still in as good of shape as when I bought them. So when RePlay Recycled offered to send us their May Under the Sea Feeding Set to use and a green set to giveaway to a lucky reader, I gladly accepted.
Elijah helped me open the package, so he immediately claimed them as his own. And don’t call them dishes, “No, these are my special plates!”
Sometimes he is happy to let Emaline use “his” plate.
Feeding toddlers is complicated enough. So I am thrilled when I find products to make my life a tiny bit easier.
The plates have deep walls, so it makes scooping food a cinch for Elijah.
I even got him to eat yogurt this morning, which he hasn’t done in months. It may have been because I put chocolate granola on top…but either way, I’ll take the win. My boy always has some of his “guys” with him at every meal, today it was Spiderman, Baymax, and Batman.
I can put macaroni and cheese in a section, or “sacaronis” as my boy calls it. I love that feature because normally, I would give him a bowl of macaroni and a plate with his other food on it, so that cuts down on the amount of dishes I have to clean.
The spoons have a nice, deep scoop. And the forks are rounded just the right amount so that they still spear food, but won’t hurt tiny hands. I even let Emaline practice using the fork and am not worried about her getting hurt.
I try to work with him to drink out of the drinking cups, but my boy is just so used to a straw cup. Maybe by the time he starts preschool he will be able to.
He will drink out of the no spill cup, which he takes from Emmy because he insists it is one of his dishes…he is only selectively good with sharing.
Everyday, I struggle to get Eli to use a fork. Who knows why, but he prefers to eat with his fingers. Most of the time I’m fine with it, but when we are eating something messy, I encourage him to use a fork.
He likes to use his RePlay fork…even if it means he picks up the food with his fingers and holds it while he then spears it with the fork. Baby steps.
RePlay Recycled products come in so many great, vibrant colors. They are dishwasher safe and BPA free and tested for safety.
