Bath time around here is totally daddy’s thing. RJ started giving Eli baths when I was pregnant with Emaline and couldn’t really do anything useful for 5 months. And since then, it has stuck. When I attempt to give them a bath, it usually is a mess…like last night when Eli was screaming and crying “Mama made it too cold again!”
I let Elijah pick out the Squid Squirter when Nuby invited us to be part of the Parent Blogger Program. I was okay with him getting a bath toy that squirted water, since bath time is RJ’s thing. And since I let him choose it, I figured I should let him review it.
“I put the quid squirt gun into the tubby. Then I just go like this and it has water in it. That’s just what I do.” He has no problem sucking the water up.
And absolutely no problem squirting it. “Push it like this puuuuuuussssssssshhhhhh. And it squirts water up up up high.”
“I like to shoot the wall too. I’m not shooting Emmy with it anymore.”
We quickly had to impose a no squirting people rule. Which also applies to babies.
“Can I shoot it in Emmy’s face?”
“No you cannot”
“How about just in her mouth?”
“When the water is all gone, I just put it in the tubby again. And I get more water. And I squirt it again. Maybe at Emmy.” He does not get frustrated when playing with the Squid Squirter because he can do it all on his own. And trust me, our bath times do not need anymore drama in them.
It doesn’t hold a ton of water, so if he does squirt it at his daddy, it doesn’t soak him or make a giant mess. So that’s a plus. “I can squirt daddy’s head when he says I can. Then I just go like this (motions with his hands) and squirt him.”
“I like my quid squirter’s big eyes. One, two big eyes. And it has funny legs.”
The Nuby Squid Squirter is recommended for ages 18 months and up and is BPA free. Emaline likes to play with it, but can’t do the “squirt” part. She does enjoy splashing it into the water sort of like she is churning butter.
She also really likes getting squirted, but we aren’t going to tell Eli that.
I am happy to be a Nuby Parent Blogger, where I receive products in exchange for sharing a review. As always, all thoughts or opinions are my own.
