Eli is totally in a snack phase. He always asks for a snack.
Sometimes I even have to call his lunch a snack so that he will eat it. “Come eat your snack, it’s strawberries and salami and a cheese stick!” And I absolutely, never let him eat his lunch while he watches Mickey Mouse so that he thinks it is actually a snack. Absolutely never.
I’m probably not instilling the best eating habits there, but the kid needs to eat.
So, when Krista from Augie & Lola offered to send us some snack bags to test out, I was psyched. I no longer leave the house without several snacks for the littles, because I have made this mistake before and I am totally that mom who opens a bag of goldfish in Target so that Eli stops screaming.
These snack bags are reusable, machine washable, come in fun prints, and are the perfect size for little hands. I’m constantly in a battle between convenience (hello giant costco box of bunny snacks) and being more green. So these are a perfect solution, as long as I remember to fill them.
I can tuck them into my purse, when we run into a store. or toss them to Eli in the carseat and the zipper is easy for him to use.
They are also great for keeping a diaper bag or purse organized. I tucked some cars and army men into one when I took Elijah to see a cousin’s play, because a three year old’s attention span is a three year old’s attention span.
It was so easy to find and not have to dig through my purse to find toys. And, fingers crossed, this might mean the end of pulling stray toys out when I am searching for my car keys.
I am a firm believer in mamas supporting other mamas, so I am happy to help with Krista’s kickstarter campaign.
Krista is the designer and owner of Augie & Lola, she is a mama of two, who saw a need for a bib that her baby couldn’t rip off and that looked trendy. And Augie & Lola was born (named after her two sweeties, Augie, 6, and Lola, 3.5). Krista loves her Boston Terrier, Disneyland, and her husband. She is a fan of all kinds of music and sports–Cubs, Niners, and Bears.
Krista also sent me an adorable toddler bib for Emmy. I have always hated putting bibs on the kids, mostly because most bibs just aren’t that cute. But when they’re a teething drooly mess it is necessary and the Augie & Lola toddler bibs are very modern and cute. She uses prints that are more like a super fun accessory rather than something that covers up a cute outfit.
Machine washable, and super absorbent, the bib not only looks cute, but is super functional. Emmy cannot rip it off herself, which is the thing I hate most about velcro bibs. I may have found a new go-to baby gift.
Check out her Kickstarter, and watch the video. Krista is raising money so she can invest in an embroidery machine and a seamstress to build up her inventory, so Augie & Lola can expand. Be sure to scroll down and check out all the rewards, she offers so many options for differing pledge amounts. Krista is also going to offer a discount code to those who pledge. Everyone who pledges, along with their reward, will get either a 25% code, for $10-$49 pledges, and a %50 off code for pledges over $49 (whether or not it gets funded or not).
Sounds like the perfect way to stock up on baby gifts.
The bib and snack bags were provided to me by Augie & Lola, but as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
