It’s cold here in Michigan. So cold. Even though we haven’t been hit by that insane blizzard like the east coast, layers are completely necessary on these cold and sometimes snowy January days. And I’m talking multiple layers, a minimum of 3. Plus, boots and a scarf and a down coat.
My new favorite layering piece is this Anita Vest from Ruthie Grace Boutique. I don’t know why I have been so afraid of adding a slightly furry vest to my wardrobe. I’ve only had this one a week and I am completely obsessed. (Disclaimer: This blog has been compensated for sharing an honest review, any thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. I’ve worn it with leggings and plaid for a day of errands and meal prep. With destructed denim, a graphic tee, and a cardi for an afternoon of dress shopping. And with colored denim and a black sweater to the autoshow in downtown Detroit. This vest is perfect for a mama’s everyday life. It’s stylish, warm, and so versatile.
I’m actually really surprised at how warm I stay when I’m wearing it. I just wish I had it last month, when Michigan was having an unseasonably warm December. I would have been able to wear this out without even needing a jacket!
It looks perfectly wintery paired with my (super warm) Sorel boots.
Did I mention that it has pockets? Crucial for when this mama is wearing leggings so I can keep my iPhone with me. And the faux leather trim is the perfect extra detail.
This vest is my new favorite layering piece. I toss it on over a long sleeve top or button up and it instantly makes me look a little more put together, even if it’s just for preschool pick-up.
Vests are so underrated. The stock is low on the Anita Vest, so if you want to get one, you can call the Boutique directly and order it:(936) 597-6447.

Here are two other ways that I styled it last week:
If you’re not following Ruthie Grace Boutique on Instagram, you should. The flat lays they post are completely swoon worthy.
