Grocery shopping with a baby is hard. Add in a very opinionated threenager and a five year old boy who wants to get through the groceries as fast as possible so he can look at toys, and it gets even harder. When I was still pregnant with Alice, I would do all my grocery shopping with just Emaline, while Eli was in school. And then, after Alice was born, I’d make a point of going to stores with tiny carts and attempt to have Emaline push the groceries, or I would pile and wedge groceries all around the carseat in the basket and underneath the cart. Neither method really worked out great. So when Binxy Baby sent me the Shopping Cart Hammock, I was pleasantly surprised.
I could actually get all the groceries I needed, without a big carseat taking up the entire basket. I wish I had this when my other two were babies! It was always such a tricky thing, before they could sit upright in the seat, but the Binxy solves that problem, and in such a cute way.
Every single time I use it, I get so many comments on how cool it is. Alice is happy and comfortable in her little hammock while I shop, and she can look around better than when she’s stuck in her infant carseat in the basket. The kids love it too; it’s easier for them to talk to her and hand her things…like a package of gummy worms…
It works from birth until baby can sit up unassisted, so around 6ish months. Alice often falls asleep in it on longer Target Runs. I guess I’m not the only one who gets bored looking at every single toy Target carries.
The Binxy is so easy to put on the cart, even when you have to make sure your other two tiny humans aren’t running across the parking lot. I keep it rolled up in the seat pocket in my minivan, so that it’s easily accessible. It’s a perfect fit on the Target cart, which is where I spend most of my days, but it also works on most standard metal carts.
Alice is happy as can be in the Binxy and mama is happy because I don’t have to worry about stacking groceries around her or make multiple trips a week since I can only fit a few items in the cart with her carseat in it. It also works as a holder for the infant carseat, as long as you stay under 50 pounds. It has a strap you buckle to keep the carseat secure.
My pattern is full bloom, but I love the indigo dream and triangle prints too! If you want to give Binxy a try, you can save 10% using my referral link.
I still prefer to grocery shop alone, especially at Target. I love to wander the aisles and read labels and look up recipes and watch instagram stories…it’s like a mini-vacation. But, if I have to have tiny humans with me, Binxy is for sure the best way to grocery shop.
