Emaline is at this phase where she is really into cause and effect. Either that, or she just loves to make messes. She loves to take her cup and tip it over, completely upside down. She mostly does it when she is in the carseat, on the way to church or somewhere where I want her to look adorable. She will just tip her cup and let it spill all over herself.
She doesn’t limit herself to the car though, sometimes she will experiment on the couch when she is watching a movie, or on the new rug in the entry way.
She always tells me what she did after. Usually, she says something like “Uh oh! Emmy’s dress all wet now!” or “Um, Emmy spilled juice on couch, Mama!”
So when Nuby sent us the Insulated Steel No-Spill Flip-it with 360 Weighted Straw, and Emaline flipped it over in the carseat to drench her new romper…it did not spill. I was immediately a fan. I wouldn’t joke about this, because I know the sippy cup struggle is real. I’ve tossed sippy cups into my purse for a quick Target run and then found the contents of my purse to be slightly apple juice soaked.
But, the Nuby Insulated Stainless Steel No-Spill Flip-it with 360 Weighted Straw is seriously no spill. Like, left it in the car for the weekend and found it upside down with milk in it no spill.
The 360 weighted straw is nice for lazy drinkers, too. Emaline likes to lounge on the couch with her morning milk and watch Sofia, and she can hold it pretty tilted and still get her milk out.
Drinks stay cool for up to 10 hours, which will be nice when it’s actually warm here in Michigan. And it is BPA free. I love stainless steel cups for my kids, I prefer them over plastic. It’s recommended for ages 12 months and up, but if your 10 month old can drink from a straw, I would totally buy it.
The only downside to the Nuby Insulated Stainless Steel No-Spill Flip-it with 360 Weighted Straw is that it’s not dishwasher safe. So I use a bottle brush and a straw brush to make sure that I get all the little crevices clean.
Emaline continues to try to defeat this cup, but the cup keeps winning.
